Mobility/Health/Pain Relief Classes
Why Your Pain Won't Go Away
If your shoulder’s killing you, the problem must be in your shoulder, right? Wrong!
Pain is just a symptom — a signal from your body that something has gone haywire and needs to be addressed.
If you have shoulder pain, your body is NOT saying, "I’ve hurt my shoulder." It’s really saying, “Something in my body isn’t moving correctly and, as a consequence, it’s making my shoulder work way too hard.”
Frequently the reason pain lingers longer than it should is because your specialist — be it a doctor, physical therapist, or personal trainer — is trying to address the specific painful area, not the entire problem. The human body is a group of inter-dependent parts, and the entire body must be considered when dealing with any issue. That pain in your shoulder could be a problem in your hip, foot, hand, knee, or anywhere else you can imagine. The fact is, you’ll almost never solve the puzzle by focusing solely on the spot where it hurts!
In almost every case, musculoskeletal pain is the result of a body-wide movement problem. To show you the path to pain relief, The Movement takes a whole-body approach to identifying and fixing your movement problems. Fixing these movement problems creates amazingly fast, long-lasting changes, eliminating your pain and maximizing your performance.
For example, if your low back pain is actually caused by your fallen arches, The Movement will give you pain-relief techniques for your lower back, as well as unique, powerful, fast-acting exercises to correct your foot problems. If, on the other hand, your lower back problem is coming from your stiff neck and bad posture, The Movement will give you exercises to correct those issues instead.
Just The Facts
1. If you have a pain problem, you most likely have a movement problem.
2. Your movement problem is almost certainly not where you are hurting.
3. To get out of pain permanently where you hurt, then you must fix your movement problem.
4. Because your specific movement problem can literally be anywhere, you need a precise, body-wide approach to finding and fixing it fast. Only The Movement can do this.
Health
Train Like An Athlete — Even If You Don't Consider Yourself One
There's a huge gulf between how high-level athletes train and what the rest of us do for health, fitness, and performance. Elite-level athletes spare no expense in seeking out the "best of the best" to help them train and improve. This makes perfect sense because they make a living with their bodies. But here’s a little secret ... so do you!
Even if you work in an office and your "playing field" is the keyboard and mouse, you still must use your body to support your family. Much like any professional athlete, you cannot afford to be hurt or take off work for long periods of time. More importantly, you can’t afford to have low energy and vitality day after day. It simply costs too much.
Everyone is an athlete. For maximum health and performance take a clue from the world's finest athletes.
What to Do
First things first: If you haven't done so already, change how you view yourself. Realize that you are an athlete, and to maximize your performance in life, you need to train like one.
"But I can't train for hours like a professional athlete."
That’s alright. You don't have to.
The most important thing you need to keep your health, performance, and energy at peak levels is pain-free mobility. It's not about agonizing strength and endurance training. The Movement’s Dynamic Mobility system uses your joints to quickly (and, sometimes, almost instantaneously) retrain your nervous system. This takes you out of pain. Plus, it allows you to move as freely as you did as a child.
The number-one problem older people seem to have is impaired mobility. They simply can’t move well. While medical science gives us all kinds of reasons for this, ranging from arthritis to inner ear dysfunction, there's a much more basic reason — and one that is easy to remedy. Loss of mobility comes from lack of movement!
Mobility is very much a "use it or lose it" proposition. Plus, previous injury or inactivity causes the body to forget how to move well. In order to counteract the effects of aging and maximize your energy and life, mobility training is key.
The Movement offers you a simple progression of unique movement exercises that will have you moving and feeling better.
Performance Athletics
Become The Athlete You Always Dreamed You Can Be
All athletes should be able to live up to their potential. Unfortunately, you often hear stories of good athletes who become injured or fail to make progress, which bring their careers to abrupt, early halts. This does not need to happen. Injuries and untapped potential are merely symptoms that something glaring is missing from their training world.
The missing piece? Mobility: Precise, controlled, dynamic mobility.
What To Do
To supercharge your training and performance, you must go back to basics. This does not mean pushing more weight in the gym, putting in more miles on the road, or hitting an extra bucket of balls.
It means developing the basics of good movement and ultra-precise body control, so you reap maximum benefits from all your training, including weights, plyometrics, visual training and ect.
Natural athletes are those exceptional people who easily move from one sport or activity to the next without missing a beat. You were built to be a natural athlete. You simply lack the movement ABC’s necessary to reach your full potential because of bad training, injury, habitual movement patterns, poor posture, and a host of other factors.
The Movement helps you fix all these problems — at lightning-speed — through targeted Dynamic Joint Mobility (DJM) training.
DJM training is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a system of joint-specific exercises designed to improve joint function, as well as overall body coordination, agility, and control. Done correctly, DJM training can make you stronger, faster, more flexible and mobile.
Here’s the critical point: to achieve maximum benefit, DJM training must be specific and it must hit every joint in the human body. Our bodies are completely integrated systems that are all interdependent, so you have to train the whole body to be mobile and coordinated.
Specific DJM work, done The Movement way, bombards your nervous system with the information it needs to take your athletic performance from average on your best day, to outstanding on your average days.
